Got a different kind of question. I was wondering if any of the open deck guys that have the tattle box would care to share how they're doing? I was at LS until 2004. Been considering a return. I know there used to be long waits at the pipe yards in Birmingham and was just curious if having the box changed the way you booked loads. Thanks for any replies and y'all keep the shiny side up.

I am still waiting to hear back from LS but I can say this, at my previous employer I did have the electronic logs and I did perfectly fine with them. You really just have to plan accordingly and manage your time/plan your trip better. I also use to run without a tattle box and everything but in all honesty, its not that bad having one. You just have to plan around it and cant run like an outlaw any more.

Appreciate it man! Yeah I have a couple of buddies that are still there and one of them put a box in. He's supposed to let me know how it goes. From what I'm hearing, they are saying that everybody is gonna have them by next year. Might just be talk. Haven't been on here much but that's a good lookin Volvo you got. I'm gonna be finished with my payments on this truck about April so I'm just trying to line stuff up.

That means you are almost good to go. LS uses an "outside" service to screen candidates, then sends qualified apps to corporate for final approval and orientation scheduling

Once you get sent in for a drug test you know your good to go. When I applied with Landstar the process was about 4-5 weeks but that was because I was slow on getting in some of my paperwork.

I have been with with Land star over 5 months now.
I had a problem recently involving a late delivery.
It took 4 hours to load me which resulted in the late delivery.
I used the phone number provided by the Agent for any issues that may occur.
They rescheduled me for the same day, but I was 12 hours at receiver plus 4 getting loaded.
It turns out this was a Schneider load that we took and the number provided me in the agents email was a Schneider number.
When the gentlemen answered the phone, he did not identify himself as Schneider.
The agent wont pay any detention because I didn't call him, and customer service is taking the agents side on this matter.
The customer service rep said I should've known the difference in area code. lol
I sent the email to them showing instructions to call the number I did, and they will not reverse their decision.
I thought this was a slam dunk case in my favor.
I am really let down and discouraged. So much so, that I'm considering leaving land star.
I know that even if I did get detention, it would not be close to the total hours I invested.

I thought when we excepted a load...the corresponding emails from the agents were like contracts and instructions on how to proceed.
Any light shed on this would be helpful, whether you take my side or not.
I really don't think there's anything to be learned here.
    Customer service is dead wrong!

If you can't never get in touch with the agent call Customer Service, tell them the problem and go from there. It's a learning experience

Only thing I learned is that they bend the rules when they want.
Nothing to be learned here sir!
I did call the agent as per his instructions.
It's his responsibility to send the correct info and numbers.
