I got out of my lease with a reefer company. I want to get back in the game. I want to lease another from a dealer not company. Example: lone mountain, do I sign on first, then get the truck our vise verse? also do you get a com data card from LS?
Any Landstar BCO's on here?

Good to see someone still in the LS area. Can anyone tell me all the things I will need before getting started at landstar? For example insurance, permits, etc. I'm not at that point yet just kind of getting my ducks in a row so to speak. I have enough money to get a truck and have a emergency fund on top of that but if I need much other then that to get started I would like to know so I can add more cash before trying. Thanks in advance.

Do a search for minimum requirements. I have them posted on the forum here somewhere. I believe it may possibly be in the Landstar section of the forums.

I've read that post, and hundreds of others. I know their hiring requirements I am wondering about what beyond that. I know that's kind of vague but if I knew what things to ask I wouldn't need to ask it. Lol I will be buying my first truck I've read all the threads on own authority but don't know how much of that applies to someone starting at LS.

at lone mountain, you have to make a down payment, and have a letter of commitment from someone saying that have approved you to lease on. kinda hand in hand
Kujo Thanks this. -
Skateboardman thanks for that info. Anything else I'll need or should I just call landstar recruiting and ask them? I kind of figured I would get approved first just so I knew I had a job before a payment. But good to hear places are smart enough to require that.

We usually "follow the money" however there are some agents that we will pull for religiously. And others we stay away from. It is just a matter of doing your homework with the load board.
The hiring process is pretty intense, and they usually take their time so patience is needed.
The application is now online at: http://www.lease2landstar.com/ ... they also have a interactive load board demo.
As for dq's no more than 1 accident, no DWI -
The two comdata cards are not for driver/teammate. One is for the fuel/pretrip and the other is for your weekly settlement -
