No not even close after self employment taxs insurance etc.....someone else controlling your maint is a horrible idea fleet maint might look at 5.5 mpg and say everythings fine nothung to fix....if they are paying do you think you will get premium tires or xheap chineese etc you will hear over and over its within spec what do they care if the cac leaks you pay for fuel not them

How about a 2014 peterbilt 587 with a 4yr/600,000 mile warranty? Company lease drivers are averaging 1.65 a mile and more. trucks are averaging around 7.5mpg and some are hitting 8.0 100% fsc to driver. Does that sound good?

bigdad7, I am not trying to convince you to do a L/P I am trying to help out those that are going to do it, hech,,,,I may do it myself. Stop having the "trying to stop them from doing it" mentality. They are going to do it, no matter what you or anyone says. Yeah, they may be stupid for doing it but, you don't have a clue to their situation and just saying, "don't do it, bad idea" is not a fits-all way to go. -

I didnt say dont do it i just said a program where someoneelse is responsible for the maint is bad juju ....and i am doing a lease purchase but if your going to take the risk you need to be able to manage it never would i want to pay a fleet to manage maint......
Your question is valid what is an optimal Situation it is one where you have control over revenue and manage the equip.....and imo anything less than 10k a month after fuel makes it not worth the risk....1300 a week not even close because where are you left when you have a performance issue that is costing you fuel but they wont fix it because it still runs your 1300 just became 800 thats bad jujuSheepDog Thanks this. -
have spoken with 3 different drivers and a dispatcher and all the numbers pretty well match up from what recruiter stated. about 4,300 to 4,500 a week in gross revenue. approx 1,250 in expenses ie payment insurance permits and such then fuel. average take home is between 1,200 to 1,750 depending on mpg.

Sounds to me like you have a great L/P deal bigdad7...tell us the details but, feel free to leave the company name out. The way I see it, you can look at it this way; as a company driver you make $750 a week and as a L/P operator you take home $750 after EVERYTHING. As a L/P operator I get to choose when/where/how much, and eventually I will own the truck. Than I can trade it off or keep it. That is my perfect L/P deal. Sure, I would hope I make more than that but, that is my minimum. If I was to make that every week, I would be good and here is why. I only have $1500 a month in personal expenses and prayfully my luck with trucks stays strong. I would put every penny away for a time when a break down occurred, no pay that week.. That is me, you may have more personal expenses and no way could survive on $750 a week. If the guy with no credit or savings had to worry about maintenance right out of the shoot, he would not last the 1st break down.

Ok what details are you looking for? payment is 979 which includes physical damage and apu. the rest comes out to about 1,250 a week ie QUALCOMM permits plates insurance. 100% fsc. 70% of load revenue. average revenue is 4,500 a week. fleet mpg is about 7.5 and some are averaging almost 8.
