Mainly two things happen when you become something you have never become in your past.... time, is the main thing. For me it is all about putting the business first, and doing what I want when business day ends. Finding loads is something I choose to do and would not have it any other way. I used to try and plan out the whole week, and I still will if that is feasible to do but, now I try to stay just a few days ahead. This is especially important when pulling a reefer, as wait times are all over the place at shippers and/or consignee's. Yesterday is a great example of this; I had a load all set up for me to get home for the weekend, which is in MI now but, the consignee took too long getting me unloaded and between that and traffic just getting the 20 miles to the pickup, caused me to be late for the pickup of that load going home. So, than it was 16:30 in the day and good luck finding a reefer load at that time of day. I did find a load this morning but, I won't be going home now, will have to wait until next weekend. I know that once I get my step, I won't have near the problem of getting home to MI as I do with this dang reefer. Such is the life of an I/C finding his own loads, no other way to be though..... Well, got to go, a load 12 miles away is waiting on me and than I will be back here for a reset. Load goes to Hammond, LA Just over 1000 miles and paying me $3400 I home that there will be a load getting out of Hammond.......We shall see.

According to Fuel Gauges I am at 6.79mpg I am working harder to drive in 12th gear at 57mph I haul too many heavy loads and sometimes have to drive 67mph to make appointment times. I look so forward to pulling a step and this glider has nothing but what it has since it got built. So, that being said, I will add more fuel saving gadgets and money saving gadgets to it as time roll's on...

Woke up to a blown drive tire.... Here is the thing though, I heard it blow the afternoon before. When I heard that tale tale sound of a tire blowing out, I looked in my mirror's and saw nothing but, I pulled off to the side of the road anyway. I sure do want to thank all the big rig truckers that moved over to the left lane when they went by. Anyway, when I check all my tires I found nothing wrong so, I rolled on, about 120 miles before I got where I was going. Woke up the next morning, checked all my tires and wala, there is was, with a big hole in the sidewall. When I looked at it on the side of the road, I thought that tire looked funny but, it was solid. I now think it was the way the truck was sitting on it at the time. I drove on it another 105 miles before I found a place that had the replacement I wanted. Ended up having to get a new recap, as nothing else would match up height wise. In about 3 weeks I will get 8 new drives for the winter...

BTW,,all is going well with the truck and the business. I am behind on last months paperwork but, will have that done tomorrow. I will post the numbers here. Last week I did $2.64RPM to the truck. That is before anything is taken out....

Still haven't got my step deck yet and I am getting impatient...

Got a call today from the CEO,,he told me I could come swap out this Reefer for the Step when I want.... I will be picking it up in about two weeks or so, going home next weekend and than have to do another favor, that utilizes the reefer. Once I get that favor done, I will get the Step. Looking forward to the challenges ahead but also excited about the fact that another goal will be met and overall, my biggest goal will be one step closer.

Picked up a load last night, a day earlier than was scheduled but, I was already there dropping another load so, I took the PU number inside and asked if that load was ready, it was. I had to wait 6 hours to get loaded but, it was better than driving 10 miles down the road and coming back today. About 30 minutes after they assigned me a dock, I get a call from my Broker, who tell's me that the consignee has pushed my load out a day, for delivery. The broker wanted me to pick up a different load, going to the same consignee but, the shipper would have none of it. I called the consignee this morning and they are taking me tomorrow morning at 09:00 This is why I make sure to always have good numbers to reach shipper's and consignee's. Can't wait to call broker tomorrow and let them know I am unloaded a whole day early...lol

Two good pieces of news followed by one bad,,,,I have to come up with $10,000.00 for my daughters lawyer in the near future. Time to play the lotto......
