So? Looking at what your posting? I shouldn't lease as I wouldnt make any better money than I'm making now? Only difference? I don't have to worry about paying taxes on quarterly bases or yearly

If your making the kinda money I'm making here at ATS then you have a #### good job. I ain't never made thus kinda money as a company driver, but we do have drivers that don't succed too. it's truely a job you get out of it what you put into it.

Although I didn't go through every page on this thread, the only settlement you posted, that I've never seen as a company driver, was the $6k, but I do average between $1200 and $1400 a week net, just can't see paying all the bills on a truck for the same, if your happy with what you got, I'm not tell you your wrong, I've been a O/O before, sold my last truck went back to being a company driver, in this latter part of my driving career, don't want the hassle, but I wasn't a lease OP. I owned my equipment, found my own loads, lot more to it this way, the pros of this way more freedom, with lease? You got the company that handles this for you, I've meet guys at JCT, thaT leased their trucks from the company, and paid them off, but made not to much, and some that did just fine with pay, with ATS? Is there a ballon payment at the end? If so, how much, just out of curiosity ?

I'm not in a lease purchase I'm in a 1 year rental deal the guys that do the lease purchase have no balloon payment just 6 years of payments I believe on a new truck, my average bring home is about 2k a week, I know there are some good companies where you can get close to that as a company driver, but I never did, and also I now do what I want take the loads I want go home when I want, I don't recommend a lease for just anyone, most will fail, but if the are gonna do 1 then this is the best I have seen, but it's also my first lease type deal.

I see no APU's but heated bunks in the rental trucks, I know nothing about O/O or rentals so i am guessing you dont idle due to vehicle maintenance and fuel cost? This does not sound like a bad deal at all, I read all the 14 pages and think the only problem I would have is the trucking smarts, like picking the best loads and knowing what is best to be profitable due to lack of recent experience.

Honestly the trick to that is having a fleet manager that you trust, mine is normally on the phone with me by the time I figure out what loads sounds good to me. She tells me what loads she likes and why but the ultimate choice is mine, but she knows more about where we are getting good freight at that time, I absolutely love my fleet manager, never any problems getting detention or anything with her. This is my 1st lease and I'm doing very well.

Well no ATS for me, at least not yet. Not enough recent experience so off to a flatbed company in Texas I go. So McElroy or TMC who knows what the future holds but definitely shooting for ATS when I get the experience. Thanks for the awesome post Rooster.
