Thanks for the update Loke. Will be there next Mon. myself. I did ask last week when I spoke to my recruiter(Melissa) about the the difference between Eagle and Celadon. She informed me that Eagle was bought last summer as a division for Celadon(flatbed). That in Sept. Intial change over occured, and that complete aquisition should happen by end of this summer. I was concerned becuase I spoke with a Eagle recruiter on the phone just a day before her, and the Eagle recruiter made it sound like they were partnered with celadon. So with this info i went through Celadon for hiring. There again it is second hand from a recruiter.
When I arrive next week, I will start a new thread with as much info as I can obtain and my experience(unfiltered).
I have worked with CRST Malone, and love doing my own loading, cleared 1500 average/wk with a 3000 buy out. But they put you in a truck they choose, 2010 or older. It could be crap or good one. They let you choose your own loads, but off their board. They get pissy if you broker a load and take forever to confirm rate. They also dont have prepass or ezpass due to CSA scores. I did not renew with them becuase of the balloon, and really don't want to own the truck. More tax incentive to lease.
I have heard and read were some drivers say that the CSA score don't matter. If you keep up with legislation and future implementation of rulings, then by 2016 all freight will be determined primarily by CSA scores for insurance and billing. So being with a comp. that can keep a low score will be a great benefit. Plus as a new division they have less then 200 trucks as of a wk ago and I get to choose my truck. Amy in compliance informed me that they hae a few used trucks, that when I arrive for oientation a list would be available. Will probably go with a new one just for the warranty.

Sorry so long, just wanted to add in so people could compare notes.

i finished my computer work early. Most of the machines didn't work. I'm an amateur tinkerer lol so I got mine up and running and was able to finish everything right before lunch. After lunch I snuck......ahem......I mean walked over to Quality's yard. Only newer tractors where I was at. Asked a mechanic where the used trucks were and he pointed across the road. Only problem was there wasa moat inbetween me and my destination and it was time to get back before I was missed lol. The Lonestars and Kenworths all has ISX 450's. Most miles I saw was 1,000. Plenty of Cascadia's too. All DD15's. Tomorrow we do contracts at what I hope is the same place they have the used tractors. Word is, most of em are 2008 to 2013 ProStars with a few Cascadia's. Take that for what you will. We'll see tomorrow.

Ok day two is over. Everything is done except the road test. They're running behind on those because no one wants to test recruits. Weird. Ran into a little snag today. I was told us flatbedders have to have brand new tractors AND all they have left are Lonestars. I counted a ton of W9's yesterday but was told they're all going to Celadon......

I called my recruiter and was told we have to drive Lonestars to Butler, IN and get in one with a headache rack. Personal opinion here, but I'm not about to lease a tractor that I don't want, especially one that will have very little resale value when it's all said and done. My recruiter informed me that it may be some W9's and 389's available in Butler though so I'll see tomorrow BUT, it may be weeks before they have new headache racks to put on them. So if that's the case, why are we even bothering taking Lonestars out there in the first place? Sounds like they're trying to fill up some of those international seats to me........ Butler is only two hours from the house. I've already been approved for Scheiders IC Choice program and Roadrunner. If I get the run around I just may have to raise sails and move out.

On another note, I talked to an eagle driver who runs DAT's Truckers edge. He says he was doing $1,800 to $2,200 per week running reefer at Eagle and at home every weekend. Didn't have time to show me the numbers as he was on his way out of the terminal to pick up a load. So I guess take that with a grain of salt? Anyway I'll let ya'll know what happens tomorrow.

WOW! Sorry they're trying to railroad you like this. I wasn't even aware Eagle leased on flatbedders. Would you consider doing reefer or dry van instead?? Easier work for the same money.

The he way I understand it. They have W900's and 389's but no headache racks. Supposedly the Lonestars do though. Also, they're saying we only have the choice of new Lonestars. Call the recruiter in the morning. Let me know what he says. I'm pretty confused to right now.
