Well started my first day today. Actually came in the night prior and stayed in the truck, woke up this morning finish some paperwork got my fuel card and was assigned a load. First load was going to be dodge city to Butler Wisconsin. Was asked to grab an empty trailer and take to Dodge city with me, inspected it noticed it was dirty on the inside so I pulled it over to washbay to have it sprayed out. Easy PEZ now ready to get on the road and get going. Made it down the road approximately 14 miles in the engine started shaking and I had a loss of power and could only get about 5 miles an hour. So my very first load out I'm now sitting on the side of Highway 54 in Wichita, Kansas waiting for a tow wrecker. Was really excited to get going I'll just trying to stay positive. First 30 days all maintenance and everything is on them so I will get back to the yard and hopefully it's an easy fix. Might have them look at the front end alignment is well as it seems to be a little bit to the right as I was going down the road. Oh well just another day in truck driving just wish it wasn't my first day with the new company.

Bruenger can be a pretty good company where you can net a decent amount. Have known 3 recently who often took home about $1,400/wk avg after company deducts/truck payments. Haven't heard much good about the truck side of the lease program but if you can buy out a truck for $15,000 that will only have 700,000 miles, you should be able to turn around and sell it for a good profit -- or keep driving it with no payment until maintenance gets too high.

I ended up with a 2012 Freightliner Cascadia, it has the cummins ISX motor and 13 speed trans. It has a bunk, with fridge and passenger air ride seats. Makes me think it was probably a team truck for Bruegner.

I think they start there Company drivers at .40 cents a mile. They also seem to have a lot of California runs, so I assume the miles could add up quickly.

As far as trucks it appears to be 50/50 between good used and pile of clunker. But they do offer a 30 day warranty.. And I have seen Kenworths, Petes, Freightliners, but mostly Volvos.

I will have to evaluate my situation when I get closer to my lease completion.

So just a little tidbit on day one, I came in Sunday night and I stayed the night inside my truck. The next morning I woke up and went over to see if the repairs that I had requested been fixed. I went inside finish signing paperwork and got my fuel cards.

Took my first trip to the dispatch office and requested a load. They asked what my plan was and where I'd like to go. Wanting to stay in the Midwest I seen a load from Dodge city Kansas to milwalkie Wisconsin. I was told the load paid about a dollar 90 a mile plus fuel surcharge. I thought this sounded good and was Ready to get my feet wet. Went outside look for the trailer that I would pull to Dodge city for theme, did an inspection on it and noticed it was pretty bloody on the inside so I took it to the wash rack. Wash the trailer filled the truck and headed out, made it about 10 miles through Wichita and the truck broke down. Two hours later back at the shop.

They put it on the computer stated that none of the sensors were showing any issues, I explained that I was going down the road the engine started shaking and I lost approximately 90% of my power. They were supposed to have completed a service prior to us getting the trucks. The mechanic found a filter that was clogged and most likely was causing the issue. So after two hours of sitting around waiting for truck to be repaired I headed inside checked with dispatch to see if I could still pick up the load and Dodge. I was told no problem go on and head out and get the load. As I'm pulling into National Beef security shack guess what is coming out of security shack? That's right my load that I was supposed to pick up.

I called dispatch informed him that another truck was taking my load. I guess earlier another dispatcher assuming that I was broke down had given my load away. The next available load that I could get would be at noon the next day. I went to loves and parked for the night. The next day I pulled in to pick up the load inspect the trailer and I had a tire that was dry rotted. So I started the day by taking the trailer over to the tire repair shop. Got out of Dodge around 11 and got on the road. I'm now sitting in a Amis Iowa.

Second day was much better than the first learn some interesting things, and feel blessed to have this opportunity. Sometimes I think that the devil tries to discourage you from what you're doing. But on day two I still I'm giving glory to God for this opportunity.

Talk to Aaron about the new Volvo leases that they're doing if the truck you have keeps giving you trouble. I assume it's an Arrow truck you ended up with.

They have nothing good to say about arrow trucks here at a A&A... I took a new volvo. After owning my own trucks for 12 years, I learned you are going to pay... Either with repair bills or a truck note.
I'm waiting for my first dispatch at A&A now. So far I like it here... Small company feel, and they seem to actually care about there drivers.

I have an x-company truck right now. I hope we can work the bugs out of it. My friend that I meet while at orientation, took the Volvo and so far so good.. But the weekly payments are around $700.00 a week 😳
