I want to get into local foodservice delivery and then possibly LTL here in the Tampa bay area. I've had 2 speeding tickets in the last 5 years, no points on my license. One got thrown out and the other I went to traffic school for. I ALSO have a misdemeanor license charge, no conviction yet. I hired a lawyer and it's going through the system. The charge is for not having a florida license within 30 days of moving back to the state. Do I have a shot or should I consider a different field?

    Thanks

Seems to me like you have a decent chance. Your current ticket is basically not a moving violation, but a document violation. I don't think they will hold that against you. Operative word here being think.
You had one ticket thrown out, and the other you went to traffic school on. So what does your MVR print out say. I they aren't on there, they didn't happen.

NOTE: However, if you had your CDL at the time the , it is very likely that both tickets would show up on your DAC. Before I retired, I got a ticket by AZ DOT which was voided by the issuing officer. There is no record on my MVR or in the court where this was issued. But it still showed up on my DAC. I didn't bother to try to get it taken off, as I was already retired when I found it. I had checked my DAC just out of curiosity.

Thanks guys for the answers. I am going to wait for sure. It happened in march of this year and my lawyer is really dragging it out. He's trying to get it thrown out. I have my fingers crossed.

if that clears up you will be fine. If not, with a criminal charge you may not be able to find a local job right away, may need to go OTR for a crappy company to start

OK, technically I guess the document ticket, since it is a misdemeanor is a "criminal charge." But I honestly don't think ANY company worth working for, would hold it against him. JMHO.

I hope so. I think someone would hire me even if I do get convicted. Most people I tell laugh and can't believe it. Only time will tell though. Thanks!
