Any one have a K2? How do you get a medical card with one?

When you certify on line “IntrAstate” is what makes you get the K on your license.
For me it was a medical waiver rule to not cross state lines.

    My road to “K” below.
Depending on why you failed the Medical exam (1 bad eye for me) you may be able to get a medical waiver.
If you call Fed. Gov. they will tell you, you need to get a state medical waiver first and have this for 3 years. So you call your state DMV, Call do not look up this information as ALL of the information & forums you need may not be on line. Once you have the state forums and they are filled out by the doctor(s) and a medical re-exam showing you have passed with the waiver you send them back to the state DMV and if approved they send you the waiver.
You will then need to certify on line you cannot cross state lines (intrastate), rules of the waiver for 3 years, then go to DMV with waiver and medical long forum to have the K restriction added to your CDL license.

That is how it worked for me. Medical card is good for only 1 year. I have heard of only 6 month cards too. Waiver good for 2 years but you need it in state for 3 years documenting miles driven and for who before you can apply for a Fed. Gov. medical waiver to cross state lines and hope to get the “K” removed.
The Fed. Gov. did tell me you can get some time/miles in 1 state and if you move carry that over to your new state for the remainder time/miles. I have not tried this yet so when I move I will put it to the test.

    BTW mine does not say "K2" just "K" & "W" W=waiver.
I also have a "B" for corrective lenses.
    Restrictions on mine = BKW

    Thanks for that info.
I have a B restriction, I do have a bad eye, very near sighted in my left eye, but my right eye is just fine 20/20 with no glasses and both eyes open. With glasses last I checked I was 25/20 in the left eye and better then 20/20 in the right eye with glasses. I'm always looking to see how that all works, in case it comes to that right now it's not at that point. What scares me though is how quick these doctors want to either A give up on you or B send you to someone else and go "Well no solution, you should just go find another job. Yeah I don't think so.

Actually if I get this job working for the city the restriction won't be a big deal and if I stay at the beer company it won't matter either because I don't go out of state hell I only drive a total of like 60 miles a day.
