don't even need to speak English and be brain dead to be a dispatcher,, now if you plan to be a broker then you need property brokers authority,,cost $300 and a $75,000 bond (still to low should be $100K or more). If you become a broker you better have enough money to pay your hired trucks in 30 days or less even if your shipper customer has not paid you. Drivers that get cheated out of their money show up with a shot gun when you do not pay.

if you want to doublebroker than yes. that means booking the loads like youre gonna move tham and than give it to other owner operators with their own authority who cant book their own loads.

If you want to dispatch others who have their own authority, you will need to use their authority to book loads for them. You don't need authority of any kind to be a dispatcher. All you do is find loads for a particular carrier. If getting set up with a new shipper or broker you will need to either have a copy of their authority, insurance and W9 or make sure they can send it directly to the broker or shipper. It is much easier if you have a copy in your files, but some owners are a little funny about a dispatcher having their personal information. You only need the information once when you initially set up with an account. Make sure you have a contract with each carrier or owner operator whom you will be dispatching with everything plainly spelled out in the agreement including compensation and payment methods.
