Well it is official. I am hanging up my hat in the beverage delivery business after 21 years and I start training at my new LTL freight job on Monday. It is going to be a major adjustment starting all over at the bottom but I am more then ready for a change. My previous employer decided to give me a going away gift of screwing me out of my last two weeks vacation that I hadn't used yet by saying that we earn our vacation the year of and not the previous year. Funny that not one person at my barn knew that little bit of info. They will know that now because the union will going to battle on this one with the company. I did give my two weeks and was a model employee with a spotless record who never made any waves before this, just in case you wondering why they would do such a thing.

Anyway, I just thought I would share my good news with you guys and tell you that I have learned a lot from this LTL forum section and hope to continue learn and share my own experiences with you. Also, any advice that you can give to a freight newbie would be appreciated.

I know you're familiar but remember, read the bills and count the pieces k? And here, baffle your new guy with knowledge.....

PRO= Progressive Rotating Order and refers to the bill number and the random order it changes. There's a couple more they live by like OS&D. Not a popular subject either.

Good for you and good luck!
