Just got off the phone with my driver trainer. He lives about three hours from me so I'm going to meet up with him tonight and stay in the truck. Then we can roll first thing in the morning. We are picking up a load of building supples in southern VA and delivering to upper NY state. Told me he would like to just stay out until I'm ready for my own truck. Mavericks policy is to spend a minimum of 21 days with your trainer. I'm sure the days will go by quickly. Just need to recheck my bags to make sure I have everything and then hit the road in a few hours.

Good timing on finishing your CDL just in time for the Holiday. Charlotte is a good location for Maverick flatbeders. You are doing the right thing checking out all the threads for the different companies. I had my reasons for choosing Maverick, bet it may not be the best fit for everyone. I hope to give a truthful account of how things work here. Good luck on choosing a company and keep me posted.

Just got moved into my trainer's truck, it's a 2012 Freightliner Cascadia mid-roof with only 12K on the clock. Very nice. Trainer and I hit it off well (at least I thought so). He went home for the night and will return at oh-dark-thirty for our departure to VA for a load of building supplies. Not all loads are glass, some of the trailers have a removable "A" frame system so we can haul other items one the flatbed. I get some pics when we set things up.

First day with the trainer today. All in all it went well. Picked up our load of subfloor material in southern VA and then drove to upper PA (518 miles). We'll deliver in NY tomorrow morning. Today I was just observing, tomorrow I'll get some wheel time. Hope the rain lets up as it's been raining all day.

my man!! i got on with TMC today... leaving the 23rd for orientation. I REALLY wanted to go with Mav, but the fact that they are auto did it in for me. i know it's good for some, but if i want local ASAP, i need to get good at shifting... but, Mav does sound like the better company. i just want to perfect my shifting skills. but, hey if i get the hang of shifting and want a change, i'll come over to the burgandy side of life! Mav gets nothing but respect from me, for sure!

Drove the truck today. Perfect day to start. It was first thing this morning in pouring rain, through fog topped mountains and heavy traffic. What a way to start out, only thing that could of made it any better would have been if it were night. Rained all day. We had to untarp and unload in the rain. Then drove back down to PA and picked up a load from a broken down rig on the side of I-78 (in the rain of course). Now on our way to Canada for a mid morning delivery, stooped at a travel center for the night.

Crossed over to Canada today and delivered our load of Glass. Back in NY just about where we started this morning. 560 miles on the day, most of them were without rain for a change. Back down to PA in the morning to pick up another load of glass. Hope it's a long run so we can put some miles on this weekend.

Today we had a shower at the Pilot after we fueled this morning. That was nice. Thanks to the elogs we find ourselves staying at the shippers location more than truck stops so showers aren't always an option. Getting loaded tonight in PA and going back up to Canada in the morning. We have a delivery for Monday morning at 8:00 am so we'll be there Sunday night.
