Hey Guys,
I have had a CDL since 1993. Went back in the military and just got out in 2013. I've got a couple of questions. I am looking closely at Maverick or McElroy but leaning toward Maverick. There's a big difference for a newbie in pay - Maverick is like 32 cpm and McElroy is 44cpm, BUT Maverick pays tarp. Questions:
1. How does the pay equal out between the two?
2. I Live in North Georgia - off 365 in Cornelia, GA. Is that a traveled lane for Maverick?
3. Which company has best trainers (and closest to my area)?
Thanks,
Mark

I work for Maverick. One thing to note about the pay is that you do get raises quickly and there is a good bonus program. I'm not sure on regional pay as I am in USA division which is home only every other week but my pay started out at .35 per mile and will increase to .38 per mile at 3 months and to .44 per mile at 6 months. Maverick also has a bonus program called PFP ( pay for performance) whereby you can earn up to a .06 per mile bonus so at 6 months I could be making .50 per mile with the bonus. Maverick pays $25 per tarp and I have been averaging about 2400 miles per week. Not sure how many miles you get per week at Mcelroy or if they have a bonus program. Good luck with your decision!

Hubby is in RAT (Regional Atlantic) He makes it home almost every weekend. I think he has been hung out 4 times this year. They did offer to get him a load swap but he said the miles were good so he would just stay out. He averages around 2400-2500 miles a week. Been there 3 years and is making .45 cpm + .06 pfp bonus= .51 cpm. This year he gets 2 weeks paid vacation.
