That`s what I figured with Co inverter as for cost, what size of Koolatron do you have?
I seen on ebay they have a mini fridge style one for about 125 shipped that I prefer over cooler style but dont think it has heat capability
its 1.7 c ft/about 48qt...
think it would fit somewhere in May trucks?
Any recent info on Brooks Or. terminal?

That's probably the one I have. The instruction manual doesn't specify which model and there are no indicators on the unit itself.

does your koolatron have a thermostat inside somewhere? the one`s I seen have a thermo,
being your out of Sacramento I assume you drop off your truck at Yolo for home time?
I did a google earth search on yolo & lathrop...seems that yolo yard has plenty of parking spaces for employee vehicles but at lathrop yard it appears parking personal vehicles for hometime is minimal...do you know if they allow drivers to use lathrop yard for hometime?
or I guess this is something to ask at orientation or DM since recruiter knows nothing about lathrop yard?
really appreciate your input seamallowance! -
I don't know where the thermostat is. I don't see anything inside that calls out thermostat to me.
Yeah, my car lives at Yolo when I am away, though, technically, my "home" yard is Brooks. Some people do, indeed, park at Lathrop. We only rent spaces in that yard, unlike at Yolo, where we rent the whole yard. Either should work fine for leaving a car. I'm not sure who to ask about it, I cannot imagine the teacher at Orientation (Turgid Tom) knowing the particulars, as that isn't really what he is there to teach. I would ask Rick in Safety (he'll be there and he is easily accessible) about Lathrop.
The spaces for trailers are pretty tight at Lathrop, and it is always harder (than it should be) for me to stuff my empty in a hole so that I can grab another one. While I am there, acting like "Mr. First-day-on-the-job", along comes a driver with a container, who whips it in like it's child's play, while I am still struggling to do a tight 90-degree backing. Poop! -
lol ..yea the lathrop trailer spacing looked pretty tight on google earth,
well guess if I`m hired on by May I`m gonna find that out for myself sooner or later & be that "Mr First day on the job" cause Lathrop is maybe an hour or so closer to home for me which I`d prefer,
should be hearing from recruiter this week to see if/when I might be going to Brooks...loooong 20-23hr bus ride....uhhgg -
What you can expect to hear from the recruiter:
"Do you have a pulse? If so, you're hired!" -
Should be starting orientation soon out of the Gary terminal does anybody know Wht the pay is for orientation?
-
seamallowance: lol...
thats what I`ve heard about most of training co`s which I guess can be a + for persons with little or no exp -
hilltoptrucker: from what I was told: orientation...1st day is not paid, 2nd & 3rd day is $50.00/day, then $420.00 week during training
-
Orientation includes a daily 25,000 calorie lunch!
