I'm wondering if your FM tells you when and where to fuel or if you're allowed to pick a spot out of a list of pre approved places? Also do you use Pilot/J, TA/Petro, Loves or a combination of them?
I ask because I'm trying to figure out about earning shower credits.
Thanks so much for the info.

from what an ex-may driver(my curent co-worker) they tell you were to fuel, they use them all. so go ahead and just get all the cards

Always check your equipment well before hooking to it or moving into it. Take photos of all damage, check tread depth on tires, cover your butt.sixxdrumz Thanks this. -
Whenever possible, you fuel at May terminals that have fuel. The rest of the time, they tell you when and where to fuel. It's usually (but not always) at Pilots.
Shower credits are not a problem for me, having the time to use them is another matter.sixxdrumz Thanks this. -
Curious as to why you don't have time? May keeping you busy or ship/rec delays?

The delivery times are almost always too tight. They'll let a loaded trailer sit until the very last minute before assigning it to a driver. The problem is that it will look good on paper, but not be practical. (I understand maximizing the use of the equipment, but gee whiz guys...)
If I want to deliver on time, I need to run out the clock, and so I end up stopping at a Rest Area, not a Pilot, since by the time I can stop it is too late to get a spot at one. I rarely sleep at Pilots, so if I want to shower it needs to be en route, in the middle of the day. (Their lots are usually completely filled by 1600 and they don't seem to ever have any empty spaces until after 0800)
Yeah, I know all that is on me (everything is the driver's fault) but that is why my Pilot shower credits expire so often.sixxdrumz Thanks this. -
I see advertisements about a new pay package at May trucking. Last I checked one year experience paid 35 cents a mile. Did they raise the pay?
