So you can do 14 out and 3 home? Melton is lower on my list because of the 7 for 1 thing. 14-3 I could handle. I'm in Tulsa though so I kinda am thinking I might be able to sneak home a bit more.
My Dad drove my whole life and I grew up without a Dad I just can't do that to my boy.rodknocker Thanks this. -
14 would be 2, but you'd get home say friday, come bak monday no worries. And living in Tulsa, you could go home whenever you were in tulsa, yeah.

I did not see any terminals in California which I live, how does home time work for someone like me? Do you get a load close to home and take the truck home?
-
You'd park it at the closest secured location you could. If its your hiuse that's fine. Truck stop is ok too. Just have to get melton approval
-
do very many loads go through CA?

Supposedly we're starting to get more. I think it will skyrocket after January and all the old trucks get the boot...

Hey Noggin
Thinking about applying with Melton, and thought maybe you can answer a couple of questions for me. First, I live in the Charleston, SC area. Do you know if the freight is decent in and around that area? Second, I am currently in the Army Reserves. As a reservist, I am required to drill one weekend a month, and two weeks during the summer. My question is, do you know of any other Melton drivers who also have part time military obligations? How is Melton about getting them home when they have military duty? I spoke with a recruiter in Tulsa, I believe Linda was her name, she informed me that getting me home for those weekends won't be a problem. I just wanted to hear it from a drivers perspective. I'm a little hesitant when it comes to recruiters.
Thanks -
I think by law they have to give you that time off. I imagine on your two weeks you lose your truck though.
-
Thanks for the reply DJ. Youre right, they are required to by law, but i have worked for some companies that get upset when they have to accommodate military obligations. Yes, you'll get the time off, but then they will screw you with miles when you come back to work. I was just curious if melton was military friendly.
