Dont even bother with those appointment times. Don't let it scare you.....95% of our shippers and cons are FCFS, Melton just sets appointments to get YOU there...they dont want you lolly gagging on a load you could get delivered at 0700 but show up at 1500. Ship/Con could care less about appointments. (most) All you ever have to do if you cant make it by a Melton scheduled appt time is

A)on your Mac 12 rolling call you should be putting what time YOU plan on getting there--after you load/secure/tarp and are READY to roll, figure out your ETA at 50mph. If you have over 550 miles, just add an additional 10 hours to account for your break.

Example, you are loaded at 1430, and you have 736 miles to cons. You have 5 hours remaining on your clock to drive today. You should be putting on your Mac 12 your ETA is 1500.

Melton speed has you needing 14 hours to make the trip.
Drive your 5 hours, shut down at 1930, plus 15 minute post to 1945
Depart following AM at 0545 with remaining 9 hours, putting you arriving at 1445. If your scheduled appt is at say noon, your DM should automatically change it to 1500 (first time after your Mac 12 ETA). However you would probably still make it at noon, since you will not be driving 50mph lol...

    OR

B)If something happens in route...severe construction or accident slow downs, or maybe you blow a tire and sit for 4-5 hours waiting on a repair. Just send in a Mac 51 (ETA Update) with the new time you plan on being there, and your DM will change your appt accordingly.

Melton will always get your time changed if you cant make it. All you have to do is let them know.

I goof off a lot with buddies , we joke about lots of stuff . I never come on here and try to instigate or offend its just not worth it. There are lots of stresses involved when you really are a driver and really do work hard - no need to try to bring people down or not be supportive . Volurange your not worth it man , take a pass on trying to be insulting .

Got a good run out of Dover to Carlisle for rolled roofing to Kansas City yesterday, but now it looks like I will sit on it over the weekend. Maybe it is the luck of the draw, but I am butting up against my 70 AGAIN. Got a grand total of 36 min back today because I came off of a 34 hr restart last week as 6 of us were deadheaded out of the Colorado fiasco. Are there any secrets to managing your 70 coming off of hometime or a restart so you don't get stuck like this?

Really enjoying the job, but at times it can be pretty frustrating with the hurdles thrown in the way of earning money. Made sure I had a good savings buffer to get over the learning curve, but it is still frustrating. First time through Carlisle took me 5 or 6 hours. This time I was out of there in 2 hrs once the load was done.
