melton doesnt require steel toed boots. however some shippers do require it. most shippers just required closed toe shoes. i bought steel toed boots just to already have them. ive only been to 2 shippers that required steel toe in the almost 6 months that ive been here. walmart has some if you want something cheap, think i bought mine for about 30$. you pretty much only have to wear them when loading product. i usually wear my running shoes or just regular vans.

I used to go to steel shippers all the time...coils, flat steel, tube, etc...that all required steel toe. I wore my tennis shoes at every single one of them...

He stared a thread at http://www.thetruckersreport.com/truckingindustryforum/threads/got-accepted-heading-to-tulsa-3-14.307502/ where he said he just passed his road test in March 2016 so it doesn’t look like he was with them long enough to really have much experience with them other than their training. -
