Yes they are always recording...that's how they capture the 15 seconds before you set it off. The only thing Im not sure about is if 'they' can push a button and look at you anytime. I don't think that is the case, the cost for a system like that would be very high.

I can pretty much guarantee that Millis reads this forum and all the others, So they know what's being said and how the current drivers feel about this subject. So we'll see where this goes. I know a few guys who just got new 680s and had no camera's installed in them, and I know guys who've been there 15yrs and have them in their new trucks, who knows what they've up to.

Well if drinking some pop or smoking a cig is going to be a safety issue and get me in trouble I might as well start looking now lol ... thats all I do when I am driving, I smoke like a chimney ( ok not quite that bad ) which millis allows in their trucks its not against our policy's and I refuse to go 4-6 hours at a crack without drinking something or at least munching on something as well like peanuts etc. I rarely have the radio on and I only talk on the phone when I stop.
I honestly don't see this kind of system as a way to help the driver in my opionion. There are other options out there that are much better at promoting good driving habits in real time by talking to you as an example in real time. How do I know this, I drove under such a system for 5 years at my previous employer. That system didn't even need cameras or use cameras and it dropped safety violations by 60% in the first year if memory serves me correctly. That fleet had 15k drivers out on americas roads ( Not a Freight company btw ).
Now I am not totally against the system if a drivers habits prove valid. However as of right now I don't feel confident that I am trusted out there. My compromise would be start paying me a fair hourly wage if they have access to cameras and the qual comm system now. The "old" we don't know if you are really working out there argument won't work anymore with this technology so you are getting paid piece work ie mileage pay. Just my opinion and I am not bitter about it, but am far from totally convinced as of right now with this system.
