Decided to post this here. If any of you are interested in a cb/10meter radio, I have one for sale. Its a galaxy 88, the older version. Bought it back in '99. Hasn't been used much and still has stock mic on it. Far as I can tell, you can't even get these types anymore new because of the way they're made. This one is clipped and tuned for regular 40 channels on cb. They are actually made for ham radio and people would modify them for cb. The last recent use, the meter did not hardly swing, which can be fixed at a shop for about $50, already checked. You can google it to see all the functions, but, it has a lot to mention. I also have a cobra 148 GTL. Stock mic, 40 channels w/upper and lower sidebands. The meter on it has come loose inside. Had it reinstalled and it came back out. I need money but won't just give them away either, so lets be fair with each other. Thanks.

You cant get the same quality and options for a lot of these newer cb's
I always recommend an older model like yours, they were built stronger in my opinion and I see them get better reception. My dad's CB from the 80's still works 100% perfect to this day but he wont give it up. -
put it in the cb forum

I agree the CB forum would possibly be better. But just a heads up, I wouldn't mention it's been "clipped" in cb lingo that means the modulation limiter has been cut out or "clipped". A lot of "cb shops" do this so it sounds louder and will move their needle more on the meter so they can tell you "this radio is great now, see it went from just doing 10 watts to 65" (I used random numbers here watts very greatly) it may make it louder but not clear and in band. I'm not saying your radio is junk because that's not the case at all! You may get more out of them if you sell them in a truck stop from your truck. While I was with my trainer he paid $200 for a radio because when the guy talked on it it was super loud and he could talk over other people. This guy was 2 trucks away. If you're close enough a stock radio will out talk a powerful one. Sucker become truckers everyday, People that buy CBs in parking lots will believe anything you say and they'll pay you for it.

Well these radios during my ownership have proven themselves and it wasn't done by a shop, it was done by an individual that knew what to do. But I will post it there also. Thought some of the Millis georgia regional guys might want a crack at it 1st is why I did it here.

I don't have time to sit at a truck stop to do this. I know that would be easier but this could also work.
