i'll get back to you on this one---as i have done it both ways, company driver and contractor. Have to go to werk now.
As far as the 50K profit thing, you would have to totally struggle for that one. 50K gross or 50K gross revenue is very possible, but 50K profit you would have to drive your butt off. -
i have talked to steve the recruiter. it sounds like a good deal. .50 to .55pm and the dispatchers are always working to find a load while you out on the road. .65 plus surcharge on used trucks there are ports throughout the country not to mention dealers. they have the navistar account plus mack and volvo. now i do not know yet if drivers get paid per run and if they have advances threw comdata. if this is all true a just do not see how you can not make money especially in texas. if any one has true info let me know if there are ind.contractors who work with them please let me know

i am cosidering getting in volved with truckmovers as a ic. has anyone on this site ever drove for any of these drive away companies if so please give me details. the good and bad thank you
-
truckmovers= lots of trucks to be moved, but not the greatest company to contract to.
i don't have much time to get into this whole-hog, but basically, if you're going to do this, it must be operated like a business; You're not an employee anymore and must operate like a business---every decision must make sense, both in the short-term AND long term. Or at least long-term.
If you can operate like a business, then i think you'll do fine. If not, i wouldn't screw with it. You might try applying with some of the driveaway companies that hire company drivers. -
P.S. Every single unimark driver i've met on the road was not a happy camper.

Its a good way to go broke !!

ok you said you did it both ways. well how much did you make. truckmovers has navistar and volvo plus they do used vehicles. which one did you work for. is it possible to make 3200 miles a week. i live in houston and all new trucks are coming out of laredo and dallas. i had my own truck leased on to a oilfield transport company but had to let it go because it got so slow. so i know the business aspect making profit.the key is can they keep me loaded. man please respond i would deeply appreciate if you would give as much as info as possible. thank you
