They have fast trucks !!!
-
A friend worked for them in Fl. and the trucks here are governed around 70-72, pay is % of load so deadheading is free, clean rigs, fix what's broken but overall he didn't stay long after several weeks with little pay, around $500... not to good for 5-6 days out if you ask me!
-
Nope, their pay stinks...
But they have fast trucks, and that draws drivers. -
Deadhead at Scwend is not free, check their site, after 50 miles they'll kick in something like .25, it's not much but it helps. And as far as the equipment, most of it is new, especially the guys pulling bulk tanks, the hopper guys have a little older equipment but it's not horrible. Schwend is not the worst you can do down here, I personally know a few guys who pull tanks for them, have for years, and are happy with them.

thks for info.i talked with the owner for almost an hour.they figure all you do for the week driving,load/unload,etc etc and if your over .34 thats what you get but never less than.i would be in tank they have 3 or 4 deals all around were i live.so good chance of taking break at the house.know im not gonna break the bank but it seemed good for being close to home with nice equipment holidays vac and personal days.really seemed like a breeze of fresh air compared to the other recruitiers that read from a sheet of paper.

I like the 1.50 per ton to offload, might not sound like much, but on 23 tons that's somewhere around 35 dollars, not bad for 2 hours worth of offload time. With the bulk tank I'm pretty sure you run the risk of 2 weeks out as opposed to the hopper guys, they pretty much get home every weekend, but if you've got customers close to home like you say you should be able to get home fairly regular.
-
was gonna go with hopper because of hometime.but they said were i live can get home ever weekend with the tank.and they gonna have 6 tank drivers and they rotate 1 weekend ever 6 weeks which thats cool with me.he was telling me the pay stub amount 800 to 1000 and the weekend guy was 1300.

I live close to the yard in Dade city and was thinking of looking at them myself. Have you heard anything else about them?
