Ok so 99% of you know who i am and what i've done. But for those that dont know, quick recap, 22 years old (23 in september), 4.5 years exp, Vans/Reefers/Flats/Steps.

I HATE my job, correction i HATE my EMPLOYER, i love that my job is easy and that im home everyday and off weekends, but i cannot take the crap equipment, low pay, long hours, total disregaurd for safety and DOT Regs. Not to mention the money for all this work is an insult to even a driver with 6 months OTR exp...

I live in Charlotte, NC and am looking for a new job, looking for sugestions. I dont care if its vans/reefers/flats/steps/tanker, i would like to still be home everynight but as long as i can be home weekends i'll be ok. I need to be able to clear $1100+ a week. And i WILL NOT pull a container...did it for one day and will NEVER do it again.

You ever looked into cattle hauling AT??? The drivers get paid well and it might be good for your area.

A/T>If you wan to make that kind of dough your best bet it to get on with a unionized LTL carrier. OTR carriers aren't going to pay you what you want AND meet your other requirements.

GRASS-HOPPER, ready to jump? :yes2557: Epes, Davis, Calex, or a different Freight outfit. I am sure Charlotte has most of them. Old Dominion, Conway, ect.....

It's very difficult to overlook the crap in a company at your age but as you grow older you just might find that unless it's truly intolerable the next outfit might just turn out to be a little different flavor of crap, but is still in the crap family.

Try jumping to another LTL dude. You have some experience

Look at Clean Harbor, Praxair, Airgas, Linde..Lots of private specialized carriers out there that will get you home everyday and make decent money.

    Even fuel hauling

So, when are you gonna just do your own thing? Are you old enough to satisfy the Insurance Companies yet? I don't see you content with employeehood much longer.
