Pepsi does a better job loading the truck versus Coke. Everything you need is on the bottom instead of the top alot of the time.
On July 3, 1998, I got stuck with the longest route, busiest day and a straight truck overloaded to the top. Everything I needed was on the bottom and all the stops needed rotated. The route was neglected as there was a bunch of out-of-date stuff.
I set the record when I come in at midnight. That was my last day
But it's a great job if you are young. My friend that started with me is now a district manager and making killer $$$. -
I have a few fiends who work or worked at pepsi dong the bulk runs to the bigger busier grocery stores and also do the route trucks. one frend has since quit, as stated on here before it is physically hard work. the older you get the more tired your body gets. my other friend still works for them. from what ive gathered from him over the years is that you definately need a good set of knee pads to get anywhere with the company. i had another friend a few years back working in the warehouse loading trucks through a temp agency for a few months, once there was a full time opening at the plant he had to fill out an application. mind you at the time he had already been working there for a few months. he failed to put his phone number on the application so they did not hire him. overall i hear the money is good as long as you mind your P's and Q's. good luck to anyone looking to work there.

I'm starting at Pepsi next week, up in the Great White North. $21/hr sounds good to me, but will I regret it? Only time will tell

Finished week 1 of training. Not an easy job for the unfit couch potato for sure, but easier than working on the oil rig that I came from.
Lots of lifting and wheeling, some 7 hour days, some 13 hour days. We have a couple of guys that are in their 50's that have been working for 20 plus years. Union contract is coming up in the fall, so hopefully a nice wage increase.
Home every night and weekends off
