RTI is on my shortlist. I would like to get more details from current RTI drivers. Lease or company. Mainly what their freight is like and main running areas, e-logs, truck speed etc. ACT is also on the list and there are tons of posts on here from their drivers. I really like where they run but I hate e-logs.

Can any CURRENT drivers for RTI pass on to those of ''us'' that are looking some information? For example (I've been to the website, but there is "hiring map" to see) is there a "hiring zone" that one has to live within before RTI will consider hiring someone? Does RTI hire CDL Class A School graduates (and if they do, do they have a list of "chosen" schools one needs to attend)?

Thanks for your time :biggrin_25514: and drive safe.

The smart thing to do I feel would be call them and ask. Any questions you have about what they tell you ask here.

Here to provide a little info about Riverside Transport. I am not the driver but the drivers wife and I have been on the truck since the lease agreement was signed in July of 2012. This is a decent company, as with any trucking company there are good things and bad things.
To start the truck payments are reasonable, less than $500 a week, however there is a large balloon due at the end of the lease term. They do not due a traditional escrow for maintenance but rather cover the vehicle with a full service maintenance warrenty which takes care of everything the vehicle needs with the exception of blown tires. That runs about $.07 per mile. They have Prostars, Cascadias and Petes.
Miles are decent, again good weeks and bad weeks, average around the 2300/2500 mark. From KC area they haul out garage doors or kitty litter, going pretty much anywhere. They do go into Canada and there are some NYC loads but they compensate for those appropriately. Other regular freight includes glass jars, steel items, and clothing items. They do a lot of TJ Maxx which is driver unload but again appropriate compensation. No forced dispatch and really you can be as productive as you choose to be as an O/O. The pay is banded based on where you run to but you can find that on their website. Fuel surcharge could be a little better but it is paid on all miles.
They are good to give out advances should you need them and they will even assist you in getting a laptop or cell phone through weekly settlement deductions. Everyone seems very friendly in the office. The two dispatchers my guy has been under have both been very easy going and are not your typical air brains. They are the type that recognize if you are willing to run hard they will find you the miles.
I believe the company is all on e-logs now. Peoplenet is the eobr of choice and luckily they are the nice blue-2 units and not the awful green screen ones. Trucks do anywhere from 65-68 depending on what you are in. I am not sure how much experience they want but I know they don't take new grads. Not sure of hiring area either but we live in Missouri. Calling and talking to a recruiter is your best bet, Travis is who recruited my guy and he was always quick to answer questions and return calls. As with any recruiter there are things promised and not delivered so keep that in mind also.
Good luck and just remember being an O/O takes a lot of work so don't expect to make a lot of money is you aren't willing to push hard to get it.

RTI requires 2 years experience or 1 year experience with truck school certificate.
