 So, it seems you're getting day, day an a half runs. Just enough miles to run you into your next 11. A lot of time bumping docks, or, are you doing drop/hooks ? Any pay issues ?

No offense intended sir, but I would prefer to just post my #s only on this particular thread as an on-going measuring device that viewers can evaluate. We (Crete drivers), have a stage II thread that we post freely on: good, bad, informative, ect....(The initial thread reached it's capacity). I would openly respond to any questions on that thread. I am sure other current and former Crete drivers would chime in as well. I don't know how to link threads. If someone could add that link it would be appreciated. I still poke keyboards 1 pointer finger at a time. xlsdraw.

Did a little # crunching. These are all paid mile calculations. At the conclusion of this hometime, I will be right at 9.5 months in. 105,429 divided by 9.5 = 11,097.78 monthly avg. 11,097.78 X 12 months = 133,173.47 total miles annual estimation at current pace. Divided by 52 weeks = 2,561.02 avg weekly miles. I was hired in @ .39cpm so 133,173.47 X .39cpm = $51,937.65 estimated 12 month total mileage pay. There is a little accessoral pay but not much. Crete doesn't do any kind of bonuses except referral. Pretty much almost everything is in cpm pay. Maybe add a couple thousand for extra stop pay, detention, breakdown, jury duty, ect....I have been fortunate in that I have not lost much time to breakdown however I did have a 12 day stretch of jury duty that somewhat offsets that.
I would note that Crete/Shaffer hires in at variable rates. They consider several factors such as: where you live, type of fleet (Dry van, Reefer), duration away from home (I am 21 days minimum/ only option here in Florida), LENGTH OF TIME WITH PREVIOUS EMPLOYER, and TOTAL EXPERIENCE. Several folks in orientation up in Lenoir City, TN came in at as high as 45cpm. Most came in at .41-.42cpm. There is Hunt Transportation for flat bed but I don't know a thing about them other than they are affiliated with Crete/Shaffer.
I came to Crete with just under two years experience. As a Central Florida resident at my experience level, I believe I am doing OK.

    12th/Final tour (01/13/14-02/02/14):
9,949 paid miles. 21 days out. 13 loads. Avg load length 765.30. Avg paid miles per day 473.76.

    Final Totals (03/02/14-02/02/14):
125,930 paid miles. 287 days out. 185 loads. Avg load length 680.70. Avg paid miles per day 438.78. 51 days off.

As the #s reflect, I did OK with Crete. Quite respectable #s for 11 months of service. But, I have a Long Haul Itch that needs to be scratched and that opportunity has presented itself. Couldn't pass it up. I left Crete the correct way on good terms. I would certainly entertain the possibility of returning to Crete if this new venture isn't what I hope it will be.

thanx for your post, this is a pretty good listing of your miles. I got in touch with a recruiter, they told me about 2200 to 2400 miles average per week,, according your calculation, I think a week they consider as 6 working days ? so an average of around 440 miles per day should be possible with crete. I would go and work out of Lenoir TN, pretty much I would try to go home weekly, as I understood,, they would bring you home for a 34 hour reset after 6 days,, it can take up to 8 days. they offered me 40 cents a mile, that doesent correspond with their website mile pay,, that actually shows 43 to 46 cents. I will have to talk with the recruiter again about that mile pay,, 43 cents is the minimum with that average miles of around 440 per log day. I drive 3 years in northamerica,, another 22 years in Europe that totals 25 years driving truck. what states do they mainly cover out of Lenoir TN when you want to be out 6 to 8 days ? what about shift changes ? I was working for a company that stoped me after 5 to 6 hours of driving,, set up a relay and told me to go to sleep in the middle of the day,, then run all night through,,, I don't want to run between 2 am to 4 am to stay in a more or less constant sleep pattern at night,,, is crete also operating like this and does that games that mess up your sleep ? thanks for some input about Lenoir TN

If they get you home weekly you would not be OTR. The pay scale you posted is for OTR. I was OTR required to stay out a minimum of 21 days. I don't really know anything about the home weekly program.

Well, the long haul reefer venture was certainly not what I hoped it would be. I am indeed returning to Crete. Orientation starts Monday 07/07/14 in Lenoir City, Tn. Negotiated in a guarantee of getting routed to my property in SW Montana at least once a year. Florida based driver pay went up 2 cpm since I left and OTR went up nationwide 2 cpm since I left. Left at 39 cpm and returning at 43 cpm.
