Pretty sure they were called Indian valley then Iceland now lenape a guy named bob owns it if I'm right I talked to him back in the late 90s only way you could make money was if you lumped your own freight could be different now but I'd be Leary with the constant changing of the names.

Indian Valley was never called Iceland. Iceland is a huge seafood company that they hauled for. They changed their name because of two accidents that are still in litigation after being in court 3 + years. They could not get insurance because of the litigation. Bob and Dan own the company their father started Indian Valley in the 50's hauling butter for Kellers Butter. Still a family owned business and they are good guys to work for. No I do not work for them, but I knew quite a few drivers that did.

If your going to comment on a company you should at least know the facts. Not making a comment like "I'd be Leary with constant changing of the names". Iceland had a seafood plant near me in Camp Hill, PA

They changed the name from Indian Valley to Lenape because of the ongoing litigation from the 2 accidents. I assumed everyone would connect Indian Valley with the name Lenape. You olhand are the one that names Lenape to your post. It was logical to me you would get the connection in names.

They sold most of their trucks, they only have I think 25 trucks left, got rid of the reefers. I have seen the Iceland trucks not there trucks anymore.

The sad part no was killed in the accidents that they got sued for no one was disabled. Lawyers ready too sue at the drop of a hat.

In all honesty I am going to see them Tuesday, selling my Pete had enough of this O/O B.S after 28 years. They assign you a Pete and you take it home with you.

You can still make a living as an O/O but you have to work too hard to make it. Fuel, tires, etc., etc., doing my own repairs is not worth it. Will be happy to shut the door and forget about it till the next load. The easy life.

olhand I owe you an apology I thought I was answering the other guy. Was not paying attention. He was was the one that was saying they were switching names. My mistake sorry.

    'olhand Thanks this.

You just admitted they switched names from indian valley to lenape so how was I wrong and because they couldn't get insurance cause of two accidents don't seem like a company I'd want to work for.

They could not get insurance because it is still in "litigation". Being in litigation is a red flag to insurance companies now days. Things have changed drastically since DOT has gone overboard on all there rules and regulations. It was not like that before, insurance companies would wait to see the outcome, now they run from you like the plague.

Would be the same in your personal car, you would get insured but your premium would cost between $2 to 5,000 a year depending on the circumstance.

I never said you were wrong, but you did know why they changed their name. There are two sides too everything. I was just setting the record straight.

    poppapump1332 Thanks this.
