I know Prime pays more if you drive a tiny lightweight Freightshaker, I've seen tons of them but what's the story if you get a nice truck?
I've seen them but far and few between. I saw a lady driving a lime green T-680 with a huge sleeper today.
Can you get them as a company driver, for less pay? Or just by leasing? or???

I'm not completely sure but I think you have a choice between a shoe box and a actual truck, but the difference in pay is like .05 I believe

yes it's .05 but there's the regular cheap freightshaker and the shoebox one... those are the ones I've mostly seen.
However I've also seem a few new Peterbuilt and KWs that were nice and they were Prime trucks... where do they fit in?

There are a few lucky company drivers with a 680 or 700. Lottery winner lucky.

Actually, I think you may be a little off on that? Prime and Midwest Distribution were separate companies. Remember when Prime ran the KW cab overs and Midwestern, or "Buck-A-Truck" as we used to call them, had those really crappy Freightliner cab overs? Did Prime buy them out at some time? I never heard anything about that, just that Midwestern just kind of disappeared over time. But then, around that time I was running mostly in the north east states so I don't know.
I do remember though that at the time I really liked the way the Prime trucks looked. I also went to Ft Scott to orientation at Midwestern in 1980 and left after the first day. Too much BS even for my young experience.
