    Hey,

Anyone work for Z-Force Transportation out of Chicago Heights, Illinois? This is all local positions... Was just curious to find out if it is a decent place to work? From talking with the guy when I turned in my application he said its Union benefits and drivers average around $260.00 a day... Does that sound right? He said its also just running garbage from the terminal to US 41 and 114 in Newton County, is that true?

    Thanks much

How is MBI going? Steady work? Long hours? Same local 142 as Z-Force? I hire on with Z-Force next week, just kind of concerned with the expensive health benefits. Can't reply to PM's yet--not enough posts.

Going good, The hours can be long depending on what you want out of it... Steady work without a doubt, if you wanna work it is there... The Bosses/Dispatchers until this point have been great, no problems at all... Just do my job and go home nothing in between... I have been doing the normal required loads every day and then 2-3 days a week doing an extra load for the money... Just received my second check yesterday due to the fact they hold your first two weeks... As far as the insurance I cant give you an answer my checks don't show the break down... Im not sure if its because I'm not in the union or not? I haven't asked... Im single also so I am guessing you have a family... My only hang up is working Saturdays...
I never had an interview with them so I never asked but If I would have know when I was hired that I would be working 6 days a week, I would have taken a pass on the job...

From what I have heard is that if you decide to work in this business in the general Chicago area either go with MBI or ARD... They say don't go with Z-force or TC... That's coming from previous drivers of the 2 not first hand...

Z-force is only a couple miles from my house so that would have been nice but driving 15 miles to work isn't bad at all...

Let me know how its going...

    jjano Thanks this.

I've only been at Z-Force for two weeks now but it's going well. I get three runs per day and it usually takes me between 10-11 hours. 350-400 miles per day. Some guys get four where I'm at but they're at the transfer station before they even open. I also know guys get four regularly at other stations. Usually between $65-$80 per load, depending on the weight. No weekends unless you volunteer, and from what I hear Saturdays are short days with guys making the minimum daily rate on those days. How many loads are you required to run at MBI? Do you guys get paid a percentage of the load? And do you guys get a daily minimum in case you don't get enough loads?

Mbi likes you to do 2 loads a day... we don't get paid by the weight.... the runs I have done pay between $82.00 and 103.00... and the daily minimum no... at least not that I know of... they have plenty of loads so don't really see the need.... what towns do you mainly pickup in? You always go out to newton? I'm out of town right now for 2 weeks working at a new location that mbi just opened in south Carolina... I volunteered and glad it's been in the 60s all week here...

I've only been to Newton twice during training. I go from Valparaiso to Three Oaks, MI, or Valparaiso to Bremen, IN.

I'm still there. Been slow for a couple weeks now. Down 3-4 loads per week. Obviously the pay has gone down. Some people are looking for other jobs. We lost two accounts and now too many drivers are at the same transfer stations. Working 11-12 hours a day for two loads when I used to do three in the same time. Weekends off is an upside (may be the only one right now, though). I heard it will pick up again come March.

The two accounts you guys lost were Crown Point and Shereville right? We picked them both up... Been pretty busy at MBI... Ive been working 14 hour days pretty much daily, that's by choice not forced...

How much was Crown Point paying you guys?
