I just need to know if its legal to take finger prints when your not hauling any value products. I've been driving for 11 years and never had this done. If anyone know can you please let me know.

This could very well be another means of protection for both the trucking company and it's employees. With fingerprint checks, it eliminates the possibilities of false identities and/or falsified work/personal histories.

It would not surprise me if DNA checks start coming into the picture, in the near future.

God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!

If it's legal for them not to pay yall detention time then it's legal for them to do anything.

A company can require anything from perspective or current employee as long as it is not against any constitutional law.
You have the right to deny them a copy of your fingerprints and they have the right to deny you employment. They can enforce higher standards than those required by FMCSA, just not lesser requirements. If you don't like it, move along.

Big R fingerprinted me back in the 80's as a casual. It's not against the law as far as I know. They did it for theft reasons. Seems deputy dawg was not very forthcoming with ID's on the last round of theft.

I can't really blame them.....consider this: Someone stole,

    1. A new Harley in the crate
    2. A pup load of sneakers
    3. A pup load of Compaq computers

    and the list goes on......

They lost the Compaq account even though they had insurance too. Compaq said yeah we got our money but we lost market exposure ( not on the shelf ) so we're moving on.

Yeah, they can "ask" for your fingerprints, and you can say yes or no. Of course, if you say no, they say goodbye.
