the short answer is YES, your driving history will go as far back as 5 years with some CO. but most only go back 3 years.
for instance i had a preventable acc. 4 years ago and that eliminated me for 1 job offer. -
they will background check your work history as far back as 10 years,
your MVR back 5 years
and personal a min. of 5 years -
YES. and depending how long ago it was, you might not be able to get a driving job anytime soon. -
Little longer answer,
Was the accident on a public road or street or was it a parking lot accident?
How much damage and were the police involved? I have never worked for or applied to a company using DAC, my experience has been if it is on my MVR it matters.
If it is not on my MVR, the prospective company submits your name to their insurance company which runs their own investigation and checks your MVR plus any pending citations, forfeitures, and suspensions and gives the company you are applying to either their permission to hire you or denies that permission.
If you are already employed and have an accident that wasn't totally your fault, and you aren't in some rigidly enforced probationary program, the company will probably keep you if they like you but they may then put you on probation. -
Some more info if it makes any differance, one accident I hit a pole the other I was Parked and a car backed into me
-
No police on ether and is not on DMV
-
if there is no police report then there is no paper trail. it's up to you if you disclose it or not then. only you know it happened.
-
One more thing I should have said there was an Insurance clam both times.
