These shutdowns are really spreading. The Albuquerque Journal reported the other day that a private bus firm that ran 37 of the 53 (I believe that is the number) school bus routes for one of the largest school districts just east of Albuquerque closed its doors unexpectedly because of fuel prices. There is now a scramble to figure out how to bus those students this fall. One parent said he would have to drive 112 miles a day to get his kids to school.
