If I may ask, when do you start working in the oil industry and when do you ventured to the North Dakota region.

How is the job market right now in the area ( I'm assuming you are residing in the northwestern area of the state). I plan on getting a CDL A and heading out in the Spring time to look for employment. I have no experience in the oil or trucking industry. I'm interested in the wireline operator position.

What are my chances of landing a job? Worst case scenario, if I'm not able to land a job in the oil industry, can I at least find employment at Walmart, making $17/hr?

I do live here in Southern Commiefornia Most are mature fields and pipe lined. I know a man who has mineral rights in the Piru area and Ojai area and the wells produce but not in big volume and are high up in the hills and spread out through out the lease and would take multiple moves to fill a tanker through out the property. the Piru property 500 or so acres with multiple storage tanks. I was told those wells might produce 40 barrels a week. More stringent Fracing laws coming down the line from Sacramento. The libs are worried Fracing is going promote earth quakes, contaminate already highly salinated and sulfur ridden ground aquifers in the the areas where the oil is already. There is oil seepage off coal oil point off the coast Santa Barbara college that they still blame from the offshore spill in the 70's. Oil seeps up out of ground in the Santa Ynez area further north and more inland of S.B.. Newer production is happening in the Bakersfield area but don't know much about that but I would assume with all the old production much is piped already. And last but not least good luck drilling in the Monterrey Shale formation that has has been discovered. That area is so blue the city flags all have the hammer and sickle embossed in them. And lets not forget THE MORATORIUM of any new offshore rigs or exploration happening here in Commiefornia. Just remember my fine state has surpassed New Pork as the highest tax state in the nation and very proud of it, above the 50% range when it all adds up. When gas was above 5.00 dollars a gal. and our great state Slimeator/ Senator Slimestien was accusing the oil companies of price fixing she conveniently left out the fact that between fed tax .18 / state tax .40 per gallon / 10%+ city sales tax .55 we were paying well over a dollar a gallon in taxes on gasoline. I'm sure big bad oil could only dream of that kind of profit on a gallon of refined product.
