Anyone ever shack up at a YMCA?

Google search on it and they do not appear to rent rooms anymore.

 

Depending on your budget, the extended stay places don't seem too bad, from what I've seen. I've seen some going for $170/wk.

 

The extended stay places I have seen would not be anyplace I would want to leave anything while away from the room. Either in the room, or in the parking lot. Besides having to kick the drunks out of the doorway before you go into your room, the rooms were not well secured even while occupied.

 

I do not imagine they are very reasonable rates in the oil areas.

 

I was thinking of places like Extended Stay America or Value Place, or somesuch. They look decent from the outside.

 

Maybe buy one of those old Katrina era travel trailers. I remember a few years ago people were buying those and reselling them around the oil fields.

 

Craigslist for Odessa/Midland has a bunch of places to stay between $330 and $850 a month.
