Nice! Security, you should Print up "South Texas Oil Boom Relocation Guides (maps included)" and sell them- you would make a killing!

Are you trying to find a rotational job? Not sure I understand how you plan on commuting 6+ hours each way from Arlington to West Texas.

San Antonio is not that bad. I am splitting my time between there and Austin while working in Pleasanton. I don't have that bad an opinion about S.A. There are bad parts of any area. If you are seeking to keep your wife happy get her thoughts, I would wager she chooses San Antonio over Midessa. I could live in Odessa, but my family wouldn't like it. There is crime in all of the small towns mentioned. A quick read of the local paper will verify that. We were kicked out of the "Garden" a long time ago. If you frac, you will have to live close, or never get home. Best wishes which ever direction you go.

Yes Sir, It would only work on a 15/6 rotation. I'm not nailed down to Arlington or anything, just have a brother there who says it's a great place to raise a family. I go where the work is. Trying to decide on West vs South Texas. Housing is scarce in those boom areas and I'm not sure I want the Mrs. and kids to be surrounded by smog and truck traffic all day. So I would be looking for decent towns an hour or two from the job. Looking to Frac with no oilfield experience, just a CDL and maintenance experience from my military service. Open to Cement and sand also.

If you get an rv or can find one to rent west tx is the place to be. Everybody is hiring and you don't need experience for any frac company out here that I know of. I frac and none of the guys I work with live here. We work a 10 and 5 and everybody goes home when their off. Your never on call when your off but when your at work you are at the companies mercy.

Thanks. So, I take it your company doesn't provide housing or motel while you're on? 10/5 is a sweet rotation.
