haulhand is correct, as long as you are hauling only oil feild freight, if you haul one load of anything other than you cannot use the exemption for a week. i used to use it all the time and given the opportunity take 2 resets in a week even after the change in the reset rules. the wait time exemptions went away for most.

All depends on the DOT officer doing the audit. In Oklahoma and the Texas panhandle you put yourself in off duty wellsite the second you rolled on location to get a load of water, etc... 24 hour reset no matter what. These practices passed DOT audits with flying colors. I think no matter what letter from anyone doesn't change what the statute says. Anyone servicing the oilfield gers off duty wellsite while waiting on site. If you sit for 24 hours waiting on a load you get the reset. If you haul a load come back and sit for 10 hours waiting you get a 10 hour reset.

Here in ND a dot officer asking to see a logbook is heard more than a beautiful woman up here saying yes to me to go on a date. And that has been never!
