Sunoco hires newbies....they pay $3k relocation too.

Beware though that although your "training" period may only be 6 weeks for a newbie the crappy $14/hr no overtime might last for 3-4 months before bringing you on as an actual employee. You'll be doing the work and watching guys with CDL experience train for two weeks and start making money and have higher senority than you because your senority won't start until they put you on as an employee. They use a ****temp agency to bring new guys on even though you get recruited by the company itself.

Some area do not make you temp first, others do...it's up to your regional mgr. Apply online and a recruiter will contact you.

It'll take anywhere from 3-8 weeks to begin orientation...they are slow.

    $14/hr sucks in Midland.
Even once you're on the money is okay/good but not great...not what I consider "oilfield" money. The good thing is you do your time and then other companies will hire you. It's good to get the experience if you're a new CDL holder.
The different work areas are VASTLY different in how they operate and how the drivers feel about the job and their pay.

    Good luck.

Better? Ha! This whole area sucks and as soon as I'm able I'm going to transfer out...but they ARE expanding the area around Midland. That means opportunity to get your feet wet (Hopefully not with oil...in the literal sense!) But it also means chaos!
