I've read a lot of advice here regarding the importance of getting the best possible training from your first employer after CDL school. There seems to be a consensus that many of the most critical skills needed to keep oneself and others alive on the road must be learned during that phase of one's career.
As I evaluate entering the trucking industry with an eye towards oil field work, I wonder, Does the training given in that unique environment translate to skills needed for OTR driving?
