I'm pretty sure they start around $14 per hour with $35 a day per diem. Halliburton is one of the lowest paying service companies out there, but you will get good training and if after a year or two you want to land another job other service companies love to hire former Halliburton hands.

I don't know what kind of schedule they work, but I would guess that you will get between 70 and 90 hours per week. With a few longer weeks every now and then.

    Nycoilfieldrookie Thanks this.

Thanks. I got an offer from them through a hiring event. I only knew of $13.50 starting pay. They mentioned per diem but didn't elaborate.

Don't let the low hourly pay discourage you. I started at $13.50 and still managed to make $70k my first year. You should get a raise up to $14.25 fairly quickly. I was able to work 80 hours or more almost every week.

I did until last October. I left to work for Baker Hughes. I would have stayed with them, but I really didn't like where I was living at the time.

What are the opportunities for advancement, if any? I live about 5 hours from the Marcellus, but haul water in North Dakota.

Oh ok. Thanks for your reply. Alot of people bash them because of the low starting pay. It's good to know that the skills learned are an asset to other companies.

I don't know much about the cement side, but I don't see why not. If you are a good hand and have some common sense you should be able to move up fairly quickly. You have to work hard and stay on your supervisors to make sure you get the training you need. Always be willing to do the crappy job and always be willing to learn.

This type of work has a high turn over rate, so advancement is really up to you.

    bucksguy and GSOK Thank this.
