For those who have, or currently are leasing a truck/s on with a frac sand company, what are the pros and cons? Approximately how much did the company pay you for use of your truck? What did they cover with regards to maintenance and break downs?

    Any help is greatly appreciated!

    Tks!

I would also like to know this. I have been a company driver for 16 years doing LTL. Its great pay but I am looking to do some sand work in on the Eagle Ford so I can eventually move my family there. What are earning potentials for highly motivated new owner operator who is not satisfied with 9-5? Looking to run my @s# off. Looking at a company called Texas Chrome Transport LLC. Anyone have any info on them?

    I know of the company....

Do you own a truck with a blower and trailer?

Take what I say with a grain of salt but here's my .02 ~ Everyone and their ex~brother in~laws sisters cousin has went out and bought themselves a oil-slingin' colombia and a 1973 steel freuhauf trailer hoping to get rich. 4 years ago the rates were outstanding... today it's a different story. There's a lot of o/o work to be had but its not great. I've worked both the Eagle Ford and Bakken shale plays.... there's been good times and bad. Don't think for a minute these companies are going to 'help' you with maintenence.... that's on you. Sure, you'll pay them an escrow (rather, it will be deducted from your settlement) but kiss that money goodbye.

As you'll read in any forum on here if you don't have experience don't jump in as an o/o. There are quite a few companies begging for sand drivers, learn on someone else's dime then decide.

In my case, I know what my operating costs are and it got to the point where it wasn't worth it to turn the truck on. I miss driving my Large~Car but going home every day and making good money is pretty great too.... so is being able to use your own shower when someone blows over and showers you with sand.

As for TCT... got to the Tripple R chrome shop and try to buy some LED lights... see what kinda service you get. They're owned by the same people, 'nuff said.

I'd be happy to anwser any other questions.... Best of Luck.

Uttrucker.... take a look at Preferred Materials Inc. (PMI) they are leasing trucks last I heard, they seem to have some pretty decent rates and steady work/contracts. They're out of Minden La but recently opened a yard in La Vernia Tx.

Circle Bar A seems to be getting busier as well.
