What's up guys. Is there any Texas oilfield truck drivers on this forum that dont have a high school diploma or GED but still got hired? And if so what did u put on the app in the education section? And does this show up on the background check?

Well you could put attended, and the high school you attended, and if they asked you if you graduated put tbd(to be discussed) by the question and come up with a good reason to not finish high school or you can try to fib, I don't really think anyone checks high school, only time I was questioned for a copy of diploma or proof was in cdl school.

Good to know thanks. I talked to the administrator from sage trucking school and she said if I am gonna pay for my tuition myself then they would waive the GED requierment since I would not be seeking financial aid.

Most require a high school diploma or equivalent(GED)..... as do most jobs outside of entry level food service. I could've passed the exam after 8th grade... it isn't hard. If you don't have the dedication to better yourself there's 100 applicants ahead of you who will.... and they will get that job. Not being rude, just real. Been in trucking 11yrs, oilfield 5, succesful owner op and proud GED holder.

Or you could drive a water truck, I think the requirements are having a pulse and being able to spell 'T-ruk Dry verr' (no offense water truck guys....)

And most truck driver job ads I've seen don't even say a high school deploma or GED is required.

If your going to ask a question, then disagree with the answers you are being given, why should we waste our time giving you the answers? The GED test is simple, better yourself. Every trucking application I have filled out asks about your education, and yes hiring managers look at that.

    Patrickm213 Thanks this.
