Got a job offer with baker hughes as a field operator, problem is I have no idea what the heck that is.
Can someone fill me in on what the heck this job is about?
BTW: I applied as an equipment operator and was offered field operator, the job descriptions look the same all but equipment operator has to lift 50lbs continually.

I work for BH and don't know the difference. Are going to be frac, cement, wireline or something else? I know they are offering that position to former military. We have had a couple former military guys start off as service supervisors with no experience. Personally I don't care for that. It's very hard for those guys to come in with no experience and try to lead a crew. Plus it can be dangerous as well.
I'll try to find out the difference today when I talk with someone from work. -
About to head to a BH job fair myself, hoping my experience in the Marines pays off...though I definitely don't want to be a supervisor right off! Wish me luck gents

How long did it take to get your first response from Baker Hughes? I applied a week ago but nothing so far.

Annnnd got hired! Much to be said for career event days. And the USMC experience was certainly helpful.

It appears that EO and FO are the same thing. They are changing the title now I guess.

Does anyone know if Baker Hughes is taking CDL school graduates?

I keep reading these post and now you got me wondering what is the difference? I'm thinking about heading up there,I'm a union heavy equipment operator:bulldozers, excavators, compactors, backhoes, skid steers, etc. I'd love to work this winter but would hate to turn down a job because I don't know what one thing over the other is!

Make sure you save your money. BH likes to shore up for projects and then lay people off
