Okay maybe the wrong spot to post this but I figured it would be moved if it is and maybe since everyone here has an endorsement you might know the answer to my question.
I need to study to get my hazmat . I want a job in the oil field industry . My problem is I have a very bad memory and simply reading the book is not going to do any good . I need school . A real course in the hazmat endorsement . I can not find anything but practice tests and other stiuff that is not going to teach me anything .
So does anyone know of a college that has an online course or some other venue that does ?
thanks
edit : I did find hazmatstudy.com . anyone know about them ? Well I just read their info . they start out claiming to be a study course but after you click to buy it is just another practice test with the 4 possible answers . I will get it jsut for the fact that the questions are on the test but it is not a study course .
hazmat endorsement course

the endorsement is just that.. the test and the fingerprinting.. keep doing the test online untill you got them question right all the time, and voila.
Now for the on the job training it will be a little different, because each company got their own certification deal I think.
But if its too much trouble for you, you dont have to have hazmat to get a job in the oil industry... and can still make decent money.
just sayin'Arky Thanks this. -
"keep doing the test online untill you got them question right all the time, and voila. "
That right there pretty much sums it up!
Front of this forum is the test ,pass it ,then welcome to the dark side ...see even he got a hazmat>>> -
The hazmat practice tests and your states DMV CDL manual are all you need. Any online course will require you to use your memory too.
Just practice till you have it down. Good luck! -
If your memory is so bad then you probably shouldn't be hauling hazardous materials.
In reality you are probably just making excuses and should take some practice tests and then go take the test. Try writing out the practice questions and answering them as opposed to just clicking through.
Worst thing that can happen is you fail and need to take it again.Big Duker Thanks this. -
@markk: It's not that hard. I added my hazmat and tanker endorsements last year thinking I might buy a few crude tankers and have driver's haul crude but that didn't end up happening. Im still in the frac sand & refrigerated business.
As everyone else has mentioned, just study the online questions, it's pretty easy. I studied the questions for 4 hours, did the online tests, walked into the DMV same day and passed it on my first attempt. I hold a California DL, so I had to go to a California DMV. In California it was only 25 questions. I didn't miss a single question. Good luck! -
I will pass this test .
the end dump stuff around here is going sour . Checks dropping by about 400 a week this year . Work is getting harder to come by as far as what we normally do . A nice 75 to 100 K is what i need at my age . I am thinking I need hazmat to get that even in oil industry . -

25 questions ? Wow . Maybe I should move back to CA . Was born there .
so I just looked this up . It seems KS only has 32 questions . I just thought it was a lot more like the gen test which is 140 I think . Maybe not as hard as I thought .
hauling from the frac is what I was wanting to do . I originally was going to go to ND and look for a job hauling aggregate to the the frac sites or even roads but they seem to only pay about 20 an hour and you freeze and have to put up with that ND weather . Going for Ok now I think .Last edited: Sep 30, 2014

Just thought I would add in some good advice . ... Never ever get hit in the head with a baseball bat ! It hurts like hell for a couple seconds . then after you wake up many hours later it really hurts . Then it feels like your entire head is cracking up in pieces for the next 25 years . Still have a big scar up my forehead . Babe Ruth would have been proud of that swing .

Write out the questions and answers. There's several different websites. This one is good to start.
Like we used to do in the dark ages to learn spelling words....
write each question and its answer 10 times. Take your time. If you rush and scribble it wont help.
Yeah, thats a lot of writing, do one question a day. The hard questions do 20 times.
Say each word out loud as you write.
Good luck.markk Thanks this.
