how high? did you check the guage?

Check your sending unit... it's unlikely the engine just increased it's oil pressure by itself.

Head Gasket;water in oil too?

My suggestion would be to have the shop put the computer on it and see what the ECM says the oil pressure is. Here' s why. The needle on my volt gauge almost pegged out. Thinking the the charging system was over charging the batteries I went to see about getting it fixed before it damaged the batteries. The mechanic said before we go too far, let's check something. He plugged his computer in and the ECM said the alternator was putting out 13.6 volts. The gauge showed well over 14. The gauge was bad.
