Does anyone know if a Peterbilt 587 has a special power cord hookup I can buy? I just got in this truck and the CB power posts are in the overhead console and I cant fit my hand in there to connect the wires. I wasn't sure if there was a different power cord I needed to hook up my radio. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Is it the plug with the three prongs? I think the T680s have those... if that's the case, you just push the prongs out of the casing, knock off the little metal piece, crimp some of the male ends onto your CB power cord, then you determine which are hot and which one is ground... two of the wires are hot.. you just tape one off, and use one for power.
Secure it with some heat shrink or electrical tape.
Or you can buy their proprietary connector.. if it's the same one I'm thinking of, Kenworth dealerships will have it, as well. I'm sure they'll expect you to pay out the nose for it.

Well, you don't actually have to cut anything.. you just push the pins out of the plastic housing, then find a corresponding female connector to crimp to your CB power wire. Because of warranty matters, we can't cut the wires for the two way radio power, so that's how we do it when a driver asks us to hook up a CB for them.
A small straight pick and a set of wire crimps are all you need... a butane torch if you go the heat shrink route.
Next time one of our T680s comes in, I'll try to get some photos.
