I think you have your question backwards. The 36 should be lighter.
It all depends on the manufacturer too. For instance a 2001 Western Star C15 82" stratosphere, headache rack, chains full of fuel weighed in at 23k. The daycab I drive now is not even double framed nor does it have a wet kit.
