I have a 2003 379 EXHD. Tractor/Trailer valve on dash leaks when I try to set the trailer brakes. If there is no air in the system and I build up pressure the valve doesn't leak. At full pressure the valve starts leaking when I try to set the trailer brakes. I have replaced the valve. Any help would be great. Thanks

I had this once and it turned out to be a leak on the trailer. I had tore the dash apart looking for the leak.

Yeah, the valves will hiss when there is a good sized leak. I'd check outside the truck and trailer. Get some soapy water.

A mechanic told me the best place to start looking for the leak when that happens is by checking the brake chambers on the trailer. He told me how, but I can't put my hands on my notes right now.

    Hammerdowntrucking Thanks this.

My friend taught me how to check that out by clamping vise grips to the supply lines of each maxi can on the trailer, than one by one remove one and listen and watch your air gauge. Does that ring a bell?
