Assuming I wanted to be legal.. Do I need to buy a plug in engine tuner so that I can change the parameter when in BC and change the parameter again after leaving? I mean this should be in the operators control as truck owner. 2019 engine, do I just go an Amazon and buy something, how does this work.

Looks like $1600 USD for the factory MP8/D13 software. Plus $350 in hardware plugs.

Do what you want. But technically it's illegal to have in/on your truck anything that will delete/defeat the limiter where it's required.

On another note, yes, there are devices to do it.

When you read up on it many sites state that 3 driver demerit points may be applied .. I’m guessing bc drivers might lose points on license because they can’t give points for something that’s not federal to out of province drivers .

I'm not so sure about that. BC can't issue points on an out of province license but the jurisdiction where your license was issued can issue points for an out of province conviction under a reciprocity agreement.

Even out of Country offences can be applied.

So I’m wondering if drivers have any legal standing to refuse to allow DOT, RCMP to plug into the diagnostics on a truck we drive, they are plugging into numerous trucks with god only knows what altered software , not to mention the possibility of their software being corrupted, and possibly introducing that to my truck, I say F you

This is trucking, you have to prove your innocence or you're presumed guilty, remember?
