    Hello Truckers!
I'm looking at purchasing my 1st rig and I've been seeing American Truck Showrooms adds all over.
They offer a 4 year powertrain warranty.
I'm actually looking to purchase outright from them as I have financing in place, as oppose to doing the downpayment and rent for a year before purchasing.

I would like to know if any of you have had experience with them and their trucks, or if you know someone who has?

    Thanks!

Stay away from them.Stay very very far away from them.I don't think I have ever heard anything good about them.Do your research before dealing with them

Based on my limited knowledge (I've been looking at buying a truck for some time now), and the research I've done, I have to agree with Dakota1358. Overall reputation seems to leave something to be desired. Be very careful.

Primarily problematic trucks. It just seemed to me that there were places that had better quality used equipment, at least based on the comments I've read.

Of course, one can always do their own research, including oil samples, outside inspection by an independent mechanic, etc. That has to factor in there as well. I'm thinking a lot of dissatisfaction can be avoided by doing a better job of thoroughly checking out the unit you're looking at buying.

But like anywhere, you might find a good unit. Or you might get suckered. The key is to make sure you're doing all you can to at least have the odds in your favor.

I have not seen any improvement by them, and they do not seem to be worried about their reputation to be concerned enough to make amends to those who have been displaced, discontent with their experience

I thank you all for your input.
I'm in Ohio and want to buy locally because I want to inspect the truck and take it to my mechanic but I understand that's not always possible.
