I personally would never take a load for a buck a mile. Doesn't matter what's the story. But the point is that C.H.Robinson charged the customer $5000 for it and when the customer found out they called them and said they will never use that broker again.

Large differences between actual load rate Vs. hauled rate, those differences can erode the safety of the general public by a semi truck rolling down the road...im pretty sure.

I really have zero sympathy for anyone accepting a $1 a mile. There is always a choice, yes or no.
G/MAN, KDT, whoopNride and 1 other person Thank this. -
Im on the dark side( being a broker and Dispatch )
M'y objective is to get the load moving for a minimum % benifit on our side. I always take the minimum precemtage but get better numbers than anyone else because I am honest and tell the truth straight up. Im no wasting any time looking for the cheapest truck around, and keep moving to the other load!
